Privacy Policy
This notice describes how data may be processed when using Noor Al-Islam at alaslam.netlify.app. Please read it before enabling notifications or sending a contact request.
Data involved
Your selected city, language, appearance, reading progress, bookmarks and downloaded Quran chapters may be stored on your device. If you enable push notifications, we store a device identifier, push subscription endpoint and related public keys, city, prayer schedule, notification preferences, location coordinates, time zone, calculation method and minute adjustments in Supabase when you opt into notifications, so the server can renew future prayer times without opening the app. When contacting us, Netlify processes the name, email and message you submit. Hosting providers may maintain technical security logs.
Purposes
We use these data to show prayer times, remember preferences, send optional prayer reminders, secure the service and respond to support requests. Notifications are not required to use core reading features.
Location
You can choose your city manually. If you select automatic positioning, the browser asks for permission. Location coordinates may be processed to calculate or fetch local prayer times. You can revoke location permission in device/browser settings.
Notifications
Push subscriptions require operating-system or browser permission. You may disable notifications or select individual prayers in the app or device settings. Delivery may be delayed or prevented by system and connectivity restrictions; full background adhan audio cannot be guaranteed.
Local data and offline storage
Local Storage, Cache Storage and a Service Worker help install the app and preserve settings and downloaded Quran text. These data may remain until cleared or be evicted by the browser if storage is limited.
Service providers and third parties
The app is hosted by Netlify and uses Supabase for push subscriptions and administration. Quran data may be retrieved from Al Quran Cloud; external links or embedded Islamic resources and Google Fonts may also be used, subject to their own privacy practices.
Retention and security
We retain information for as long as needed to supply selected services and meet legitimate operational and security needs. Prayer schedules may be refreshed periodically. We apply access controls, but cannot guarantee absolute electronic security.
Your rights and deletion
You may clear local site data or revoke permissions in your browser or device. To ask for access, correction, or deletion of subscription or contact data, choose “Privacy/data deletion” in the contact form. We may ask for limited verification to protect the data.
Future advertising
This release does not itself add Google AdSense. If ads or additional analytics are introduced, this policy will be updated and consent mechanisms will be added where required.
